UNIFORM & EQUIPMENT
The following list contains the uniform & equipment (the "kit") needed for a Sherwood Foresters impression. Basic items are all required for participation in the field with the unit.
Basic Items:
1 helmet, Mk.1 or Mk. 2, with liner & correct chinstrap

1 Field Service (FS) or General Service (GS) Cap

Field Service (FS) cap with King's Crown buttons & cap badge.
1 set denims (trousers & jacket) - this is your fatigue uniform.
1 pair P37 anklets
1 set P37 basic web equipment:
1 waist belt with brass fittings
1 pair equipment braces (suspenders) with brass fittings
1 pair basic pouches with snap closure

Basic web equipment set assembled for use.
1 water bottle with wool cover & carrier (envelope or skeleton type)

1 pair black ammo boots with toe cap - - leather soles w/hobnails or DMS boots acceptable
1 mess tin - postwar aluminum recommended for use; wartime tinned for display only
1 spoon
1 brown or white enameled tea mug
Basic Weapon: Enfield Rifle No. 1 Mk.III or Mk. III* (for later war impressions, Rifle No. 4 Mk.1 acceptable) with bayonet & carrier

1 set P37 or P40 battledress (BD) (trousers & jacket)
1 pair khaki drill (KD) shorts

1 set jungle green (JG) battledress (trousers & shirt or jacket)
1 leather jerkin
1 wool pullover (sweater)
1 wool cap comforter
1 wool great coat
1 jackknife w/lanyard
1 holdall with period-correct shaving & grooming components
1 sewing kit
1 wool blanket (gray or natural)
1 groundsheet
1 rain cape or gas cape
1 respirator bag (Mk.VI, Mk.VII or lightweight)
1 pair identity discs (1 red, 1 green) with cord
1 first field dressing or shell dressing
1 ammunition bandolier (wire hook closures, not snaps)
